As soon as bub has well and truly become comfortable tolerating smooth purees and you have had the chance to offer a nice variety of options, it is time to increase the texture. Evolving the texture of purees is extremely important for babies oral development and ultimately plays a role in their ability to make sounds and eventually say words.
One of the easiest ways to add texture to a smooth puree and also to create more variety in bub’s diet is by thinking of their meals as building blocks. Use a smooth puree as a base, then add a portion of protein finely chopped or minced and then add a portion of well cooked grains. It is as easy as 1, 2, 3.
