These Chocolate Chip Lactation Oat Cookies are a wholesome, delicious snack created especially for mums during their breastfeeding journey. Soft, naturally sweetened with banana and apple, and studded with dark chocolate chips, they're perfect for enjoying with a cuppa while nourishing yourself through the busy days of feeding your little one. Best of all, they're made with three ingredients to support lactation including brewer's yeast, oats and flaxseed meal.
Brewer's yeast is naturally rich in B vitamins, protein and minerals which help support healthy milk production as well as help maintain healthy energy levels during the postpartum period.
Oats can help to support milk supply and support lactation. They also provide slow-release carbohydrates and fibre, helping to keep energy levels steady and promote fullness, something every busy mum can appreciate.
Flaxseed meal has phytoestrogens that can influence breast milk production. Flaxseed also has plant-based omega-3 fats and fibre, nutrients that support overall maternal health.
The banana and apple puree provide natural sweetness along with fibre, vitamins and antioxidants, while wholemeal flour adds extra fibre for digestive health. Eggs contribute high-quality protein and extra virgin olive oil provides heart-healthy fats. A handful of dark chocolate chips makes these cookies feel like a treat while still being packed with wholesome ingredients.
