These Chewy Oat Nut Bars are the perfect no-bake snack for babies and toddlers learning to self-feed. Packed with fibre-rich rolled oats, omega-3 fatty acids from chia seeds, and the natural sweetness of apple and pear puree, this wholesome snack supports healthy digestion and brain development. The addition of Nourishing Bubs Tree Nut Maintenance Mix helps maintain tree nut exposure once introduced, promoting long-term allergen tolerance during critical early years. Ideal for baby-led weaning, this easy recipe is suitable from 9 months and can be tailored for different allergies by swapping oats or nut varieties. Great for busy parents looking for nutritious baby snacks, these bars are made in one bowl with minimal clean-up—making healthy snacking simple and stress-free.

These no-bake Chewy Oat Nut Bars are a nutrient-rich snack for babies and toddlers, made with oats, chia seeds, fruit purees, and a gentle tree nut mix to support allergen exposure. Easy to make and perfect for little hands, they’re a wholesome option for baby-led weaning or on-the-go snacks.
2x 25g Nourishing Bubs Pear puree cubes, defrosted
2x 25g Nourishing Bubs Apple puree cubes, defrosted
½ tbsp smooth natural peanut butter (or alternate nut butter)
1 ½ cups rolled oats
2 tbsp chia seeds
3 tbsp Nourishing Bubs Tree Nut Maintenance Mix
1 tsp cinnamon
Mix all ingredients together in a large bowl until well combined.
Press the mixture into a lined tray/container until compact. (Optional: top with desiccated coconut).
Refrigerate the mixture for at least 4 hours or overnight until firm and holds shape.
Suitable from 9-12 months
Suitable once peanuts, tree nuts, and wheat have successfully been introduced
If bub has not been introduced all 9 tree nuts use a nut meal or blend of a tree nut/s they have been introduced to. If bub has not successfully been introduced to peanuts, use a nut butter of a nut they successfully have been introduced to. If bub has a wheat allergy, quinoa flakes or gluten free Weet-Bix can be substituted instead of the rolled oats.
Enure to refrigerate until firm and the oat bars aren’t too soft as it can become gluggy and bulk together in bub’s mouth.
This mixture can also be baked for a cooked version. Method remains same, just bake until golden and firm instead of refrigerating.
